EV Charger Grants in Scotland 2026
Edinburgh EV charger installation - what grants are available?
If you’re thinking about EV charger installation in Edinburgh for your home or workplace, you may be eligible for a grant.
At Energize Electrical, when you enquire about an EV charger we will always discuss grant schemes with you and try to help you save money where possible. We are well-versed in the various grants possible and will support you on your application.
There are a few grants available but not all are applicable to residents and businesses in Edinburgh or the Lothians. For example, grants for people who don’t have private off-street parking are only available in certain council areas – not Edinburgh.
2026 update to EV grants
OZEV is the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles – a government team created to support the transition to zero-emission vehicles by providing grants for home/workplace charging infrastructure and electric vehicles to reduce pollution.
There have been some big announcements from OZEV recently with home and workplace grants for EV chargepoints extended for a final year with 5 grant schemes extended until March 2027 and 3 grant schemes closing.
To help you better understand the changes, we’ve broken down the grants that are suitable for Edinburgh and the Lothians. At Energize Electrical, we are delighted to see not only an extension of grants but an increase in funding – there’s never been a better time to think about EV charger installation in Edinburgh.
